Overview

Sundt Construction's World Class Marketing Group is looking to add a Proposal Specialist to our team here at our Corporate Headquarters in Tempe.

 

The Marketing/Proposal Specialist will primarily support the company’s business development efforts by preparing prequalification’s, proposals and presentation materials. In addition, you will apply marketing communication skills to assist with various PR and communication duties while generating best in class proposals. The Marketing/Proposal Specialist is a core member of the marketing group and a key contributor in helping Sundt achieve its strategic objectives. 

Responsibilities

  1. Marketing lead person on individual project pursuit teams with responsibility to produce pre-qualification materials, proposals and presentation materials along with writing or developing key sections of proposals.
  2. Provides overall management of each individual pursuit design and production process with responsibility for quality, scheduling and on-time delivery.
  3. Works with the Account Manager/BD Manager to help develop and craft best in class messages, layouts and presentations of Sundt themes, win strategies, ideas, skills and capabilities.
  4. Represents the marketing/proposal group as the subject matter expert and collaborates with other internal stakeholders to educate and share industry best practices.
  5. (Sr. Level Only) May participate in the applicant screening/hiring process and train new hires.  May assist Marketing Manager with department administrative functions.  Will adhere to guidelines in the marketing manual, style guide and branding standards.  This level of individual qualifies for CPSM accreditation and participating in START and LEAP leadership training programs offered by Sundt. 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree required (Graphic Design, Journalism, Marketing, English or Communications preferred).
  2. (Level 1) - 1-4 years of marketing/proposal experience in the AEC industry however Construction experience is highly preferred. 
  3. (Sr. Level) – 5 or more years of marketing/proposal experience in the Construction industry who have demonstrated experience leading proposal efforts or a combination of education and work experience.
  4. Marketing and computer applications course work or industry certifications preferred.
  5. Must be a capable writer and able to effectively communicate highly technical concepts, terms and processes to varying audiences.
  6. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Office Suite programs.

  1. Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day
  2. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  3. Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasional basis
  4. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  6. Will interact with people and technology frequently during a shift/work day
  7. Will use telephone, computer system, email, and other electronic devices on a frequent basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
