Overview

Sundt Construction's Transportation Group, based in Tempe, Arizona is looking for a Group Quality Manager.  This individual will establish, maintain and enforce the quality objectives and procedures for the group.  Sundt's Transportation Group services Arizona, Utah and Texas predominately and is responsible for over $400M in revenues annually.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the development, maintenance and enforcement of the quality procedures and objectives of the group.
  2. Reviews RFQ packages for quality related items that would add extra costs to a proposal, and prepare a summary of these items for sales engineers and/or estimators.
  3. Prepares contract specific inspection and test plans.
  4. Performs on site audits to ensure compliance with construction standards and project quality requirements.
  5. Develops a quality metrics report for status of site inspections, non-conformance, punch list, construction turnover, etc.
  6. Participates in activities to support the company’s strategic planning efforts.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree required.
  2. 10+ years managing quality programs in construction.
  3. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day. Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
  2. Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasional basis
  3. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  4. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  5. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
  6. Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day
  7. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
